Letter to the Editor: High expectations for Lieu from environmentalists

Congratulations to Ted Lieu on his election to Congress. Lieu will be a champion on environmental issues and a leader in calling for action on climate change.
In the state Legislature, Lieu has worked to combat climate disruption by sponsoring bills to reduce the state’s carbon emissions and provide local grants for climate change adaption. He also authored a law prioritizing the purchase of fuel-efficient state fleet cars.
His voting record has earned him a 100 percent rating on California League of Conservation Voters 2014 Scorecard and a 96 percent lifetime score. His leadership and experience will be a welcome addition to Congress.
